Pedro Paulo Gomes Pereira

Pereira is Associate Professor of Anthropology at the Preventive Medicine Department and the Graduate Program in Colective Health of the Federal University of São Paulo (UNIFESP). He is also coordinator of Quereres – Research Group on Differences, Human Rights and Health.

Doctor en Anthropology by the University of Brasília (2001) Pereira was a visiting scholar at the University of Barcelona (2001-2002). He is member of publishing committees of scientific journals like Revista Interface. Pereira received the Prize Anthropology and Human Rights of the Brazilian Association of Anthropology (2002).

He is the author of  O terror e a dádiva (2004) , De corpos e travessias (2014), and several papers published in Brazilian and international journals. 

Among his research areas are body, health, illness, aids, anthropology of biomedicine and technologies.
